June Mail Swap: A Celebration of Connection Through Snail Mail
In a world filled with notifications, emails, and endless scrolling, there is something truly special about finding a handwritten letter waiting in your mailbox.
This June, we're inviting you to slow down, put pen to paper, and join the Enchanted Postmark June Mail Swap.
Whether you're a lifelong letter writer, a stationery enthusiast, a postcard collector, or simply someone looking for a meaningful way to connect with others, our mail swap is designed to bring people together through the simple joy of correspondence.
What Is a Mail Swap?
A mail swap is a community event where participants are paired with another person and exchange mail through the postal system.
Think of it as a modern-day pen pal experience. Each participant is matched with another member of the community and sends one thoughtful piece of mail. The goal isn't perfection. The goal is connection.
A few kind words can brighten someone's day more than you might imagine.
Why Join a Snail Mail Exchange?
Many people miss the excitement of receiving personal mail.
Bills and advertisements fill most mailboxes, but a handwritten envelope feels different. It creates anticipation, surprise, and a sense of being remembered.
A simple letter can create a connection that stretches across cities, provinces, and even countries.
How the June Mail Swap Works
Step 1: Sign Up
Register before June 15 to participate in the swap.
Step 2: Receive Your Match
After registration closes, participants will be randomly paired with another member of the community and notified via email.
We encourage everyone to be open to both Canadian and international matches.
Step 3: Create Your Mail
Write a short letter introducing yourself, sharing a story, or responding to a few thoughtful prompts.
You are welcome to include extras such as:
Stickers
Bookmarks
Postcards
Tea packets
Small flat paper goodies
Extras are completely optional.
Step 4: Mail Your Letter
Letters should be mailed by June 25.
Once your envelope begins its journey, all that's left to do is wait for a little mailbox magic.
Need Inspiration? Here Are a Few Letter Writing Prompts
Not sure what to write?
Try one of these prompts:
What is one small thing that has brought you joy recently?
If you could send a postcard from anywhere in the world, where would it be from and why?
What is your favourite way to slow down and recharge?
Tell your swap partner about a place that feels like home.
Share a book, movie, or creative project that has inspired you lately.
Remember: your letter doesn't need to be long to be meaningful.

The Benefits of Slow Correspondence
Letter writing is more than a hobby.
Studies have shown that reflective writing can reduce stress, improve emotional wellbeing, and strengthen social connections.
Writing a letter encourages us to slow down, be present, practice gratitude, express ourselves thoughtfully, and my favourite create genuine human connection.
In many ways, snail mail is a form of mindful communication.
It allows us to step away from the rush of modern life and engage in something more intentional.
